Brown Cardi

So this Cardi is super quick, easy and very customizable!


Knit in one piece so there's no seaming to do at the end.

I'm currently working on one in DK weight, Ill post changes to the pattern and pictures of it when i finish :-)

abreviations:
co=cast on  ws=wrong side   rs=right side  swyif=slip with yarn in front kfb=knit into the front and back of the stitch(increasing 1 stitch)

started with 4.5oz newgrange, 8.5oz cinnamon coffee Mosaic Moon Gaia Aran
Size 9 needles (i used 9" circulars for the arms and then longer circulars to do the body)
*co 40 stitches in the round in newgrange 
*3 rows 2x2 ribbing 
*switch to cinn. coffee, stockinette stitch 
*alt colors every round 
*knit arm 17” in the round and 10” flat stockinette stitch (make 2 pieces) 
*kitchner 2 pieces together 
*pick up an even number of stitches from arm pit to arm pit and knit 2x2 rib along half the opening for 5 rows, bind off 
*pick up the rest of the stitches along the opening
*knit garter stitch for 5", increasing the middle stitch or between the 2 middle stitches ever ws row, and swyif last 3 of every row
*RS: knit to last 3, s3 wyif
*WS:knit 3, kfb, knit to last 4, kfb, s3 wyif
*CO as follows: k3, (s3 back to LH needle, K2, s1, k1, psso) repeat section in () to last 3 sts, cut yarn thread through 3 sts and weave in through side edge
*sew up small seam where garter and 2x2 rib meet
*put on cardi and mark with saftey pins on each side of the 2x2rib where you want the side/front pannel to come up to
*pick up sts along icord edge knit 2x2 rib picking up a stitch from neck 2x2 rib section every other row, slipping last 3 sts wyif at bottom edge for a nice neat icord edge.  knit until you reach the point you marked with saftey pins.
*i cord bind off (same as done on bottom edge of back)
*do other side/front pannel
WASH AND BLOCK!!! ENJOY YOUR CARDI!!!

Training

What training plan are you using? Or are you just winging it?
I'm using the Hal Higdon training plan found here

What do you like about your training program? what do you dislike?
I really like the slow increases and openness of this plan, but at the same time sometime i just need someone to tell me "go do x for y minutes" not just "cross train" or "strength train" but for my first half I think this is the best way for me to ease into it...I looked into a few other plans but they were more involved then I thought I could handle at this time.

Welcome!!! I've tried blogging before, I'm bad at it, but i need somewhere to track my training for my half marathons this year and to post my thoughts i have on running---god knows my family is tired of hearing about my thoughts on running and whatnot :-)

I might go off topic sometimes and chat about my puppy or my kids or even my knitting or other hobbies...they are all my dreams and love so they get included too, but mainly im going to try to stick to my training.
